About Darrius “Dari” Estigoy

Thank you for visiting! Attached to this page is my resume with a listing of prior jobs, productions, and educational experience.

As an artist, educator, and a first-generation immigrant, I think it’s important to get ideas out there and have people explore outside the realm of what they currently have as knowledge. To truly find meaning through emotionally driven insight and more literary analysis.

It’s my desire that work should help to bridge gaps in understanding, to shed light onto possibilities, and to help everyone envision future pathways that may not seem clear.

Part of my approach to art is to instill the concept of dynamics. Designs should strive toward boldness and exciting ideas which catch the eye. To try and look at ideas in different ways and bring new light on themes. Beyond the design space, as a photographer, it is important to impart a sense of movement into a still.

Taking the other definition of dynamic, every piece of design must play with each other rather than as elements within vacuums. An attempt must be made for the appropriate balance within the demands of the work, whether that work is a fully pledged proscenium production or a singular sound effect.

As educator, it’s important to remember that art encompasses designing for understanding rather than purely aesthetically. Good design may be bold and encompassing but it must also be accessible for the intended audience. Using research and revision, it is possible to let both thrive in the same space.
